Building on the success of our disability services across Victoria, SASS has opened a 27-bed Supported Residential Service facility in Bendigo.

Murphy House located at 5-7 Murphy Street, Bendigo will provide a mixed service including a SRS which will provide accommodation and support for people who require assistance with daily living, for example, people who are frail or have a disability.

In addition, Murphy House will provide short-term respite for NDIS participants requiring 24/7 care.

Whilst we are still busy behind the scenes setting up or SRS rooms, our NDIS respite rooms are open and we are taking heaps of bookings. Get in quick!

Our busy little ninja's are making preparations for a grand opening of the SRS rooms in late April 2022. In the interim, we are taking expressions of interest for participants wanting a tour.

What is STA?

Under the NDIS, STA replaces what used to be called respite for people with a disability.

STA is a support where someone with a disability has a short stay away from their home. This gives you the chance to try new things, make friends and learn skills. It also gives your family or carers a short break from their caring role.

What is SRS?

Supported residential services (SRS) provide accommodation and support to Victorians who need help with everyday activities, for example, people who are frail, aged or have a disability but don't specifically need 24/7 care.

What support will I be provided?

Our self-contained rooms are well-equipped for people with disabilities.

Our wonderful disability support staff are always on hand to ensure all your support needs are achieved.

Our services include:

  • Personal care such as showering and dressing

  • Nutrition

  • Meal planning and cooking

  • Taking medication.

  • Community access.

  • Access to our SASS-able program.

How long can I stay?

It’s up to you!

Your funding in your NDIS plan will allow for up to 28-days a year in STA.

So, depending on your package you could stay overnight, for a weekend, or for a holiday.

We do offer longer term accommodation packages dependent upon availability as part of our Supported Residential Services.
